Dizana's quiver is the best ranged item for the cape slot in Old School RuneScape. It is the guaranteed reward for beating all 12 waves of the Fortis Colosseum, ending with the boss Sol Heredit. This guide explains what the quiver gives you, how to get into the Colosseum, how a run works and what to know before you try.
What Dizana's quiver gives you
You need level 75 Ranged to wear the quiver. It goes in the cape slot and replaces Ava's assembler for most ranged setups.
| Version | Ranged attack | Ranged strength |
|---|---|---|
| Ava's assembler | +8 | +2 |
| Dizana's quiver (uncharged) | +18 | +3 |
| Dizana's quiver (charged or blessed) | +28 | +4 |
The charged bonuses apply to ammunition fired from your ammo slot. You charge the quiver with sunfire splinters, up to 20,000 charges. Each shot has about a 1 in 3 chance to use a charge.
Two upgrades are worth knowing:
- Blessed quiver. Bring 150,000 sunfire splinters to a Shrine of Ralos and the charged effect becomes permanent.
- Ammo saving. After the quest Animal Magnetism, Ava can add the ammo-saving effect of her devices to your quiver without using them up.
The quiver is untradeable.
Requirements
The Fortis Colosseum is in Varlamore, east of Civitas illa Fortis, so you need to complete the quest Children of the Sun first. You can get there by:
- a ring of dueling (once you have 12,000 glory),
- a quetzal, then a short walk east,
- the Civitas illa Fortis Teleport (54 Magic and the quest Twilight's Promise), or
- a charter ship to Civitas illa Fortis.
There are no level requirements to enter, but the later waves are built for strong accounts. The OSRS Wiki suggests around 95 Attack and Strength, 90 Defence, 95 Hitpoints, 90 Ranged, 94 Magic and 77 Prayer for a full clear.
How the Colosseum works
Waves and modifiers
A run has 12 waves. Before each wave you pick one of three random modifiers, and every modifier you choose stays active for the rest of the run. Some add new enemies, others make existing ones hit harder or punish mistakes, so choosing well matters as much as your gear.
Sol Heredit, the final boss
Wave 12 is Sol Heredit. He is weakest to slash attacks and becomes enraged at around 150 hitpoints, which is where many runs fail.
Leaving with your loot
Between waves you can end the run and claim everything you have earned so far. If you die, log out or teleport during a wave, you lose that loot. Unique rewards start dropping from wave 4.
Dying
The Colosseum is not a safe activity. Unprotected items go to a grave outside the arena, and Hardcore Ironmen lose their status. The reclaim fee is reduced by 75% until you have completed 100 waves.
How long it takes
A full clear takes a while. The Colosseum Speed-Chaser and Speed-Runner combat achievements ask for 28 minutes and 24 minutes, which is far faster than a normal run. Most players need many attempts to learn the waves and the right modifier choices.
Rewards
- Dizana's quiver, guaranteed for beating Sol Heredit.
- Smol Heredit, the boss pet. Trading a spare quiver to Minimus also gives a 1 in 200 chance at it, or 4,000 sunfire splinters.
- Sunfire fanatic armour, the Echo crystal and the Tonalztics of Ralos (from wave 7).
- Sunfire splinters and glory, which unlocks shortcuts such as a bank chest and the ring of dueling teleport.
Doing it yourself or using a service
The Colosseum is one of the hardest challenges in the game, and a failed run on wave 11 or 12 costs a lot of time. A hand-played service is the other option: an experienced player clears the Colosseum on your account.
If you choose a service, check:
- The seller's track record, such as a Sythe vouch thread and reviews.
- The price for your build. Mains, zerkers and pures are priced differently, and weaker gear adds to the price.
- Safety measures, such as a VPN matched to your region or playing through Parsec on your own PC.
Sharing your account is against Jagex's rules. A careful service keeps the risk low, but no seller can promise zero risk.
At Samurai, Dizana's quiver is played by hand by our own workers, with prices for mains, zerkers and pures on the website.
